Walking With Buddha - Noble 8 Fold Path by Amy
"gives rise to vision, gives rise to knowledge,
and leads to peace, to direct knowledge, to enlightenment, to Nibbana."

This week, we were honored to have dearest Amy to share with all the youths extracted teachings of the Noble Eightfold Path from a book titled “The Noble Eightfold Path” by Bhikku Bodhi. In brief, the Noble Eightfold Path are:
The first two aspects are categorised as the Wisdom aspect of the Noble 8 Fold Path
RIGHT UNDERSTANDING
To understand Kamma (Actions) - what are wholesome and unwholesome Kamma. Ultimately, understanding of the Four noble Truths
RIGHT INTENTIONS/THOUGHT
Intentions to let go of cravings on unncessary wants and needs and ultimately having the right intentions to renunciate the material world and walk the Buddha's path.
Intentions of Good-will and Intentions of harmlessness both different in its own ways but derived from the fundamental thought of wanting both others and yourself to be well and happy.
These next three aspects are categorised as the Morality aspect of the Noble 8 fold Path
RIGHT SPEECH
Avoid lying, tale-bearin, harsh speech, idle talk
RIGHT ACTION
Not to destroy life, steal or commit sexual misconduct
RIGHT LIVELIHOOD
avoid occupation which brings harm to oneself and others
The last three are considered Concentration aspect of the Noble 8 Fold Path
RIGHT EFFORT
do one’s best in the right direction, sincerely
RIGHT MINDFULNESS
To always be aware and attentive
(1) CONTEMPLATION OF THE BODY (KAYANUPASSANA)
(2) CONTEMPLATION OF FEELING (VEDANANUPASSANA)
(3) CONTEMPLATION OF THE STATE OF MIND (CITTANUPASSANA)
(4) CONTEMPLATION OF PHENOMENA (DHAMMANUPASSANA)
RIGHT MEDITATION
Calm the mind such that true nature of things can be realised
Here is a summary video of Amy providing an overview on how the Noble 8 Fold Paths are interrested to one another.
For those of you who are interested to read more on the book by Bhikkhu Bodhi, here is the link or http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/bodhi/waytoend.html.
After the session, we had dinner prepared by our dearest friend Mr Mao Mao, Jian Yong and Fu Zhong. Through coordinated effort, some of the youth helped in various areas as you can see in the pictures.

Thank you all for preparing a simple yet warming dinner for all of us! Also Thank you Amy for preparing the sharing despite your busy schedule! It's your first sharing and I'm sure its not the last..right? hee!
With Love,
Ming
