Palden Dorje: The Buddha Boy

An average human being who stops drinking will die of dehydration in three to four days. According to the Guinness Book of Records the longest time a human has survived without water is 18 days. But Ram Bahadur Bomjon, also known as Palden Dorje, spent 10 months meditating with drinking and eating, attracting world media attention and thousands of devotees. Discovery Channel's film crew was able to film Ram continuously for 96 hours, day and night, during which time he did not drink any fluids or eat any food. He was then only 15 years old.

His feat earned the nickname of "Buddha Boy" and many devotees even thought of him as a reincarnation of Lord Buddha. But Lord Sakyamuni Buddha he is definitely not and should not be mistaken. Palden Dorje is definitely a high0level cultivator, but in Therevadan Buddhism, he cannot be the reincarnation of Lord Sakyamuni Buddha, as He has already entered paranibbanna. Paden himself has already said,
"Tell the people not to call me a Buddha. I don't have the Buddha's energy."

After missing for close to 2 years, the reappearance of Buddha Boy now 18, captures the world attention again. I do not wish to speculate on subjects I do not know, but I do hope that Palden Dorje will become an enlightened master in future, and become a compassionate teacher in our generation to guide the world to cultivate more wisdom, love and compassion in an otherwise troubled universe.

His recent emergence, reported by AP.
