Food Distribution with Shan You

A few days back, some of our youths volunteered with Shan You Counselling Centre to help with their monthly Food Ration Distributions to the elderly and less fortunate citizens of Singapore. It was a meaningful experience to be able to send the food ration packs to the residents around the Ang Mo Kio estates as we manage to catch a glimpse into the lives of those who are not as well off and fortunate as we are.

We started the day off at the Shan You Wellness Community Centre located at Eunos where we had a briefing from the kind lady in charge, Elaine.

Splitting off into different vehicles, our youths set off to different locations around Ang Mo Kio, making sure that all the food rations were delivered to its designated household. Each food ration pack consisted of the basic daily necessities - rice, toilet rolls, bread, milo and biscuits just to name a few.

It was definitely an eye-opening experience for our youth and we did enjoy a fulfilling Saturday morning last week! Do look out for future events like this and feel free to join us :)
